Good hotel with free Wi-Fi, a jacuzzi, and great outdoor dining. The staff helped with my elderly parents during my first stay, which I remember fondly. I highly recommend it for your next visit!

The stunning views from the deck are a real highlight, overlooking the Tasman Bay and Arthur Ranges. The outdoor spa offers a perfect spot to unwind while enjoying the sunset—a truly relaxing experience.

The access road is rugged, making the 10-minute drive a bit bumpy, which could be an issue for smaller vehicles. Rooms aren't automatically serviced during your stay, which felt odd for a 'luxury' place, and the breakfast menu was underwhelming with missing items. Maintenance needs attention too. we noticed loose decking boards and some furniture that looked quite tired. The lack of common areas made longer stays less comfortable, pushing us back into town for meals.

It was just a great match for a hurried visit in Nelson with good value considering the price it charged. The cooked breakfast was wonderful and really filled me up for the day ahead. If driving, be prepared for a steep driveway.

I had a delightful time at Parautane Lodge, with breathtaking views of Nelson and Tasman Bay. The fresh, hearty breakfasts and the wonderful hospitality from the owners made my stay truly special. The peaceful ambience was a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle.

Access road was a bit bumpy.

breathtaking scenery

Couples seeking peaceful views

The views from the deck were jaw-dropping, like nothing I've ever seen! Julie and I really enjoyed soaking in the outdoor hot tub while watching the sunset, with a glass of wine in hand.

The stay wasn't cheap but it was still worth it!

I stayed for 2 nights in the Queen Room with Mountain View. The bed and pillows were super comfy, and having a spa tub was perfect after a long day. The big deck had stunning views, making it an ideal spot to unwind. I noticed the sliding doors didn’t offer the best views compared to other rooms, so I’d recommend snagging one of those instead. a cozy stay with a nice vibe.
